Saturday Morning Shopping at Grand Mall Varna

While my wife and I don’t typically find ourselves drawn to the allure of malls, the prospect of starting a new job on Monday nudged us towards a shopping spree at Grand Mall Varna.

Hopping into a taxi, we found ourselves at the mall’s entrance by 9:40 am, a good twenty minutes before the retail rush began. The mall was already buzzing with activity as shopkeepers prepared for the day. My first stop? Teodor. To my delight, the store was hosting a sale with discounts ranging from 30-70%. Teodor is my go-to for quality cotton wear. I managed to snag four premium cotton tees, a chic linen dress shirt, and two pairs of stylish linen/cotton shorts. The total? A mere 270 leva for items that would usually set me back between 80-120 leva each.

While I was engrossed in my shopping, my wife was on a quest for a new pair of Birkenstocks, though luck wasn’t on her side this time. To lift our spirits, we treated ourselves to some refreshing juices before embarking on a shoe hunt. I had my eyes peeled for a snazzy pair of sneakers, but the 200 leva plus price tags gave me pause. Perhaps that’s the going rate these days?

Grand Mall Varna isn’t just about shopping. It’s an entertainment hub, boasting an IMAX, bowling alley, arcade zone, and even a retro museum. The food court leans towards fast-food chains, so we opted for a delightful lunch at Staria Chinar on ul Makedonia, a favorite of my wife’s and just a short 20 minute walk away.

In a city with a few mall options, Grand Mall stands out, even if many of them house similar stores. Every visit leaves me content, often with a bag or two of new additions to my wardrobe.
